CONTEST! PRIZES! Tell Us Your Best Bike Commuting Tips

Hey QBers, biking around town is soooo much better than being stuck in a hot car, wouldn’t you agree? You know that we love riding our bikes around town, which is why we make fun bike accessories like panniers and our brand-new handlebar bags. Whether it’s keeping one more car off the road for your rush hour commute, or taking a chill evening ride to the local watering hole, biking around town can be the best part of your day.

As much as we love cruising around, sometimes there can be a big learning curve, especially for beginning or occasional cyclists. What shoes do I wear? What pants do I wear? What about getting too sweaty? How do I make sure that cars see me? Do I need to wear a dorky reflective vest?

We hear that, and if you do have questions like this, we heartily encourage you to check out these flippin’ awesome bike commuting tips from Gladys Bikes’ Leah Benson and our own Rebecca Pearcy.

Now that you’ve heard from us, we wanna hear from you! Got a favorite brand of shoes that’s cute and comfy on and off the bike? A well-worn safety tip that’s worth passing on? Send it in to and we’ll enter you into a drawing for one of two stylin’ bike helmets generously donated by Nutcase, or a brand new Queen Bee handlebar bag!

And don’t worry, even if you don’t have any tips to share, we still want to hear from you. Just send an email to that says, “I want in!” and you’ll be entered in the giveaway.

We’ll be accepting entries through Friday, July 24. Winners will be selected at random from all entries received, and we’ll be showcasing the best responses on our blog. Happy pedaling!

“I want in”! I really don’t have any tips. I just started riding my bike 2 months ago. It’s been so rewarding. I take the Max into work and ride home. I don’t want to be all sweaty when I get to work. It’s 11 miles going home and it’s the prefect work out. Any tips would be awesome!
